Loon Lake

"Loon Lake"  oil on canvas

Once, in another lifetime, I took a road trip across the 

Upper Peninsula. Somewhere there in northwestern 

Michigan, I was exploring a little road-side lake 

when I came upon a mother loon and her baby

swimming just like this. Of course, I didn't 

have my camera in my hand, so it's just 

a memory burnt into the "nature corner"

of my mind. Many years later, I 

made this painting of 

the loons.
